Originally from Queens Village, NY, Nick Rycar graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 2001 and attended the University of Massachusetts. While studying both Computer Science and Japanese language and literature, he spent a year abroad in Sapporo, Japan at Hokkaido University. After graduating in 2006, he moved to Olympia, WA, and is currently working as a junior systems administrator in Tacoma.
After moving with her family throughout the West Coast, Luana Rawlins settled in Olympia, WA. While at South Puget Sound Community College, she became pregnant; in 2001, her daughter Lorelei was born. She plans on pursuing a degree in comparative literature when time permits, focusing on the relationships between technology, art, and Western culture.
Luana and Nick were married in 2007 after dating for two years. They currently live in Olympia, WA with Lorelei, where they enjoy book shopping, reading comics, and arguing about everything under the sun.
