Originally from Queens Village, NY, Nick Rycar graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 2001 and attended the University of Massachusetts. While studying both Computer Science and Japanese language and literature, he spent a year abroad in Sapporo, Japan at Hokkaido University. After graduating in 2006, he moved to Olympia, WA, and is currently working as a systems administrator in Seattle.

After moving with her family throughout the West Coast, Luana Rawlins settled in Olympia, WA. While at South Puget Sound Community College, she became pregnant; in 2001, her daughter Lorelei was born. She finished up her Associate of Arts in December 2010 and now plans on pursuing a degree in comparative literature, English, or sociology, focusing on the relationships between technology, art, and Western culture.

After a long stint of dating and eventually marriage, Luana and Nick decided that being best friends was the best fit for them. They still hang out together constantly, watching movies, playing board games, and above all else, talking about media and how it affects the world overall.
