Adrift in the void

ugh… this custom theme doesn’t support unordered lists properly. I’ve ghettoized it, because it’s way too late to fuck around with CSS
Fixed!

Mr. Caesar demands more, and sometimes you get what you want. I’m killing time as it is, and have been staring at the stagnant site for the past couple of days, so why the hell not?

I’ve been going through a similar routine to what Luana described back in May, to be perfectly honest. My mind overflows with things I want to commit to a blog, a piece of paper, a napkin — you get the idea. Then, when I sit down to actually begin the process, my mind turns to sludge, and I can barely finish typing a coherent sentence before I close the laptop and decide to leave the fight for another day. I don’t like this, but I’ll stop this train of thought before it degenerates into the lamely predictable “I’m back everybody!” pieces of livejournal drivel.

In other news, since either Luana or I last posted here semi-regularly, quite a few games have taken up our time. I’ll do my best to summarize:

  • We’ve both started and ended a pretty long stint playing World of Warcraft. Fun times and lots of friends made among our guildies, but at the end of the day, neither of us really have the stomach for the post-80 grind.
  • Luana played through both Persona 3 and 4, and both are fan-fucking-tastic. Any fan of JRPGs, the occult, or Japan in general owes it to themselves to play these games.
  • I re-played Chrono Cross, since Luana was interested after finishing Chrono Trigger. Even after playing the entire game, reading all of the summaries on the net, and doing my best to re-hash it all for Luana I’m not sure either of us understands it fully.
  • Started about 5 RPGs to try and find one we could enjoy together — ended up landing on Final Fantasy XII which I think I managed to get about 5/6 of the way through before getting distracted. I’m still trying to muster up the energy to get back into it without restarting.
  • Beatles Rock Band owned us for about a week, and then we kind of burnt out. Even the Beatles can get old if they’re the only thing you get to sing or play — still some of Harmonix’s best presentation to date.
  • Luana got hooked on Fable 2 and I on Fallout 3 thanks to a 1 week Blockbuster game pass. We ended up buying a cheap copy of the former for Luana to play the shit out of, and until I feel like scrounging up the scratch to buy the GotY Edition of the latter, I’ve been fooling around with the original which is fantastic, if archaic.
  • We checked out Scribblenauts, which is perhaps a bit too clever for its own good. Small doses are a must if you don’t want to throw your DS at the wall.
  • Picked up a used copy of Saint’s Row 2, which I’ve been lazily plodding though. It has that wonderful GTA quality of trying to be about 5 different game types, and doing each of them just well enough to be endearing, if not fantastic. Still, sandbox fun at its best.

Well, that brings us more or less up to date for now. It’s time for bed — see you around kids!

  • brain turning to sludge is what kept me from working on my blog as well - and i'm sure it will *continue* to hinder me. hehe.

thanks for the updates, and it was good seeing you and luana earlier this month!

Oh good, I'm not alone with FFXII. I got up to the big ending boss dungeon and realized I had completely lost interest in the entire game (SADNESS).

I HIGHLY recommend getting Fallout3 for PC for one major reason - the goddamn soundtrack. It's got about seven tracks (ok really more but it feels like 7) so when jared is playing it for hours on end the music gets so damn repetitive. There's patches for windows though that let you stick in a TON of public domain music that's time appropriate.

Nice to see y'all are still alive. ^_~
  • I'm right there with ya when it comes to the brain-sludge-posting thing. Trying to write anything more than 4 sentences anymore might as well be torture. It's an epidemic in this info-gasm overload age. I'm glad to see you posting though!
